About the Event:

LeadHERs in Digital Health is a pitch competition designed for 8-10 select startups (co)founded or (co)led by women. Phase I of the event offers entrepreneurs and founders with focused workshops and trainings, including pitch preparation, raising capital, firm challenges, financial model and intellectual property concerns. Phase II, the pitch competition, features select teams for a 7-minute presentation, followed by a 5-minute Q&A session from a panel of investor judges. Concurrent with Phase II, a youth summit on innovation and entrepreneurship is held to introduce and engage middle and high school students in the ecosystem.

Recap of Phase I

On Saturday, December 1, 2018, HealthVenture Capital hosted Phase I of LeadHERs in Digital Health in Atlanta, Georgia featuring talented women entrepreneurs and founders. Phase I entailed pitch preparation, raising capital, firm challenges, financial model and intellectual property concerns. Our team worked with five women entrepreneurs, founders, innovators and leaders of digital health startup companies (pictured left to right):

  1. You are a woman entrepreneur, founder or leader in a startup
  2. You are an early or seed-stage founder, received less than $500K in funding to-date
  3. Focusing on any one of the following digital health areas:

    • Population health management
    • Telemedicine products
    • Integrative medicine and healthcare
    • Artificial intelligence & big data
    • Internet of things in medicine
    • Biosensing and behavioral health
    • Genomics and sequencing technology
